The Pirate History
Podcast
A podcast about the Golden Age of Piracy and the real men and women that shook the world. We discuss the pirates, buccaneers, privateers, and smugglers that threatened the trade and stability of Old World empires. We talk about the kings, queens, priests, & governors that ran their world and we talk about the people who lived in that world. Brothel workers, merchant fences, slaves, witches, indigenous peoples, and all the regular people who were torn between the cruelty of their masters and pirates alike. History, high seas adventure, myth and magic, voodoo, treachery, and freedom await.
Matt Albers
Matt Albers is a lifelong landlubber, performer, and broadcaster. He fell in love with pirates reading Treasure Island and history from the tales of Robin Hood. Matt likes hiking, kayaking, gardening, and reading trashy 20th Century horror paperbacks. To his shame, Matt dressed as a ninja for a Pirates vs. Ninjas party in college. For the record, pirates win because they have guns and fast ships.
